What sets our workshops apart?
Our writing and self-support workshops attract
motivated people who are serious about moving forward. We design each
one to strike a synergetic balance
between
technical, critical and problem solving skills that are directly applicable
to participants' projects and goals.
When
people unite in mutual support--whether they're plotting a novel or a new
life path--each benefits exponentially from the whole. Our workshops
address
the needs of the individual, while capitalizing on the strengths of the
group.
And they're
fun! Our facilitators are published writers and expert teachers who
love what they do. Their passion is evident in both the classroom and
the one-on-one coaching sessions that are part of every workshop we offer.
What are workshops on demand?
All workshops are available upon request for
groups of six or more, at your location, on a schedule that works for you.
We will also customize writing and writing-based self-support workshops to fit your
organization's needs, budget and timeline. Sample topics include:
|
|
-
creative visualization
-
creative problem solving
-
'life
writing'

How do
skilled writers use detail to drive story? When is backstory
appropriate, and how is it best worked in? How do conflict, stakes and
motivation drive character development? What are the components
of a successful scene? How do scenes form a plot?
Intended for intermediate
novelists, this in-depth workshop addresses
interior
monologue, voice, setting, pacing and other crucial elements of fiction, and looks at how they
can be leveraged to create
more powerful, engaging stories.
